He works with crafts and particularly in caning bamboo chairs and fabricating domestic lumber like spoons, garlic basin, and shapes for making confectionary, Kebbeh shapes, and other kitchen equipments. He participated in many exhibitions and festivals in Lebanon from 1989 till the present, the major exhibitions were in the north, Batroun, Jbeil, Zouk Mikael, Mairouba, Beit Meri, Harajel, Deir al kamar, Saida, Tyr, Shouf, Beirut (Horse racing), Achrafieh, Ansar, Marjaayoun, Al Khiam, Al Klaiaa, Hasbaya, Zahle. He inherited this profession from his grandfather and he protected it till the present with the support of his sons despite the hardships he faced. He is stuck to this craft for he considers it among the most important crafts in Lebanon, and he is trying to add new glamour to it and preserving its antiquity at the same time. For instance, he turns a simple chair into a beautiful ornamented form by a caning and gathering antiquity with modernity. He is proud of his art and he hopes that this country and people will take care of this craft for it presents our country and if it fades away, our country will lose its heritage.

عمران مكاري، مواليد عام 1964 وهو منتسب إلى نقابة الحرفيين الفنيين في لبنان بمرسوم رقم 4336 رقم 101. يعمل في محال الحرف وخاصةً تقشيش كراسي الخيزران والقشّ العربي وصناعة الأخشاب المنزلية مثل الملاعق، وأجران الثوم، وقوالب المعمول، وقوالب الكبّة، والشوابك، والمناخل. يشارك في العديد من المعارض والمهرجانات التي تقام في لبنان. وكانت بداية اشتراكه سنة 1989 واستمرت حتى عام 2010، وكان أبرزها من الشمال والبترون وجبيل وزوق مكايل وميروبا وبيت مري وحراجل ودير القمر وصيدا وصور والشوف وبيروت(سوق الخيل) والأشرفية وأنصار ومرجعيون والخيام والقليعة وحاصبيا وزحلة. وقد ورث والده المهنة عن جدّه وبالتالي حافظ عليها ولا يزال مستمرًا بالعمل فيها بمساعدة أبنائه رغم الصعوبات التي يواجهها. فهو متمسّك بهذه المهنة لأنه يعتبرها من أهم المهن الحرفية في لبنان، محاولاً إضافة أفكارًا ورونقًا جديدًا إليها مع المحافظة على تراثها القديم . على حد المثال، يصنع من الكرسي البسيط تصميمًا جميلاً مع تقشيشها جيِّدًا بحيث تجمع بين الماضي والحاضر. يفتخر السيد مكاري بحرفته ويتمنى أن تبقى بعون الدولة وذوي الاهتمام بهذه المهن الحرفية لأنها تمثّل بلدنا وإذا اندثرت أو ُفقدت لن يبقى وجهٌ قديم لبلدنا.
