Through the fall of each school 12 months, I travel…a great deal. I wake up early, catch flights across the country, and search the Hertz parking lot for rental cars with back-up cameras. During this time, we’m seldom at my desk, I’m meeting a great deal of awesome students, and learning about the cool and exciting things pupils are doing. Nevertheless when I’m not on an airplane or at the rental vehicle counter, here’s exactly what I’m probably doing…
- Interviews and Receptions and High class visits
Check your highschool’s hallways for our visit posters. You should see our poster outside your counseling office if we are coming to your school over the next couple of weeks. We’ll also be doing Discover USC presentations on campus and through the entire United States and abroad.
- Hoarding Pens
If there is certainly something you should bring with you a senior school visit, it’s a pen. We will present one thing to write in, but we don’t offer you one thing to write with. We give some pretty information that is useful these visits, so it is generally beneficial to jot down a few notes. Last week I visited schools in southern Virginia. I started the week with about ten pens that are extra ended with two.
- Answering questions
We spend a lot of time questions that are answering we travel (and really through the year.) But, when we are on the road, this is our central mission. We make an effort to answer all associated with the question you have while we are in your area. SO, the piece that is best of advice I can provide you is ASK YOUR ISSUES. It’s also simpler to answer questions whenever we are standing in front of you then to email us later.
- Sitting in my car
I sit within my car…a lot… often it feels like I spend more time in my own car than We do in the specific shmoop.pro senior high school. Often I’ll check Facebook (I’m old) or Snapchat, and make some funny updates with the brand new filters (recently the bunny is the best.) Inevitably I become sitting within my car longer than I should when I’m (still) listening to Hamilton and trying away my most readily useful (read worst) rap skills. That reminds me! Anyone filling out the Quick Takes yet? Remember, short, sweet, and just be YOU! This is not a trick.
- Consuming local but drinking Starbucks
Have any good restaurant recommendations that aren’t Chipotle? Send them our way! We want to explore urban centers and learn about where you live. Understanding where you come from, helps us understand the job. We want to get a feel for the community and experience that which you experience on a daily basis. We tried a great Greek place last week which was in a totally random location…thanks Yelp!
